How to Get Here
From South and West (Ohio, Western PA), take I-90 to Buffalo tollgate. Go through tolls and continue on I-90 to exit 50 for Niagara Falls. This puts you on the I-290 ***see below
From the East take I-90 west to the Buffalo toll gates. Bear right as soon as you go through the toll gate and take the Niagara Falls Exit 1/2 mile past the tollgate. Your now on the I-290 ***see below
***Take the I-290 to Exit I-190 North for Niagara Falls. You'll then pass over the upper Niagara River twice as you go across Grand Island. The two bridges are approx. 5 miles apart. After the second bridge go about 4 miles and exit at NY 265 Lewiston. At the stop sign at end of exit turn left, go through the traffic light past the hospital( now you know where it is just in case!!)and around the bend where you will come to a T-intersection. At that light turn right and proceed down Lewiston Hill. At the bottom of the hill go under Center St (Lewistons main treet) and circle around up onto it. At the 2nd light (Portage Rd) you turn left to go to the Portage House Motel. To get to the launch ramp where we leave from take center Street all the way till it ends at the River. Turn right and the ramp is is 100 yards below the bank on the left.
Reccomended Hotels and Restaurants
The Hillview restaurant... Breakfast is served starting at 6 am at the Hillview (5am for fall Salmon season..Sept 15-Oct 15). Just take Center St Rt 104 east out of town 3 miles till you come to the first light after you leave town. Town hall is on the left. Go through the light ang the Hillview is on the left.
Syros Resturant right next to the Portage house is also serving Breakfast starting at 6 am every morning
PORTAGE HOUSE MOTEL.......716-754-8295 The Portage House is a nice clean recently remodeled hotel that is conveniently located just off center Street. ( see directions )
The RIVERSIDE MOTEL.....716-754-4101 Nice cabins located right down by the dock where we launch our boats from. Follow directons to launch ramp but turn left at end of Center street.
